Is my phone eSIM compatible?

Two conditions: the phone must support eSIM, and it must be carrier-unlocked. Checking takes less than a minute.

Check on the phone

  1. iPhone: open Settings → General → About and look for an EID line or a mention of an available eSIM.
  2. Android: open the phone keypad and dial *#06#. If an EID number appears, eSIM is supported.
  3. Also check that it is unlocked: a phone locked to an operator generally refuses other operators' eSIMs. If in doubt, ask your operator.

Guide by brand

  • iPhone: XS, XS Max, XR and later; SE (2nd generation, 2020) and later. Exception: most iPhones sold in mainland China do not have eSIM; check your model.
  • Google Pixel: Pixel 3 and later (some older models sold in a few countries are exceptions).
  • Samsung Galaxy: S20 and later, recent Z Flip and Z Fold models, some A series models. Support depends on the country of sale.
  • Other brands: many recent models (Xiaomi, Motorola, Oppo, Honor and more), depending on the model and country of sale.

The compatibility checker on the Help page gives you the answer for your model.

Locked phone: what can you do?

If the phone was bought with a contract, it may be locked to the original operator. Ask for it to be unlocked before you travel: the request is made to that operator and can take a few days.

Frequently asked questions

Does a phone with dual physical SIMs always support eSIM?

No. Dual physical SIM and eSIM are two different things: check whether there is an EID.

Can my tablet or watch use an Alizeoo eSIM?

The plans are designed for phones. For another device, check that it supports eSIM and contact support before you buy.
